Here are some steps for retiring puppet.lizard, taken from the above:

• Delete Puppet configuration in the Puppet control repo
• Clean up certificates, cached facts, and reports on the Puppet master
• Stop the VM
• Delete the VM definition in libvirt
• Wipe sensitive data (unneeded, see thread)
• Delete the storage volumes formerly used by this VM
• Remove from LDAP
• Remove from the Password Store
• Remove from documentation
• Delete backups
• Update documentation if needed
