HTTPS only mode user research

Goals

TB devs are working on forcing https connections in Tor Browser. The main goals are as following:

Understand breakage with HTTPS enabled
Understand if the recovery flow is usable
Learn about possible opportunities to educate users in context

Audience

regular users, advanced users

• community partners in global-south via @gus

Methodology

We will share a Tor Browser Alpha build for users to test in a period of time. Survey Questionnaire TBD

I'm going to go ahead and close this since HTTPS-Only mode is enabled by default in Alpha, and will soon be in Stable too. We can keep an eye on:

1. User feedback received through our support channels
2. Third-party studies on HTTPS-by-default ran in browser-land (especially for Firefox)

But I don't think we have the need or capacity to run our own study atm.
