Stripe donations failing due to unknown reasons

Users have reported that when trying to make a donation via credit card (aka Stripe) on Tor Browser, including on Standard security mode, the transaction fails. Here's a full report from a donor.

I am experiencing a lag when trying to donate to Tor using the Tor browser. It says: "One moment while we shovel coal into our servers." For more than ten minutes as of now for sure. There does not seem to be any unusual lag in the second Tor browser window I have open nor on my Internet connection in general.

I was trying to pay using a credit card, I managed to fill in the data, I just did not get forwarded to the transaction confirmation page (or any other page that follows). As of now, I use Standard security level of Tor Browser. I was using version 10.5a16 (based on Mozilla Firefox 78.11.0esr) at the ... I am not sure if I used 32-bit or 64-bit version for this.

I don't really know what's going on with the donate page. I filled it in and clicked donate, it keeps making these API calls periodically but doesn't do anything.

I've checked that my internet is stable and such. Other sites seem fine, low ping, no packet loss. It's just sitting there when I tried to pay by credit card, and selected $5

I couldn't get the debit card stuff to work. Reluctantly I used paypal instead and that sorted it out. I've used this debit card for all sorts of international purchases (that normally need credit cards) so I know it works.

[I] filled in all the details to donate $250, the submit button does nothing and makes no HTTP request to submit the form data. I'm using brave browser and not accessing the site via tor.

I tried the donation page from my phone too (Android, but also Brave browser) with the same result.. the donate button is just not working. I also tried it in a clean profile in Firefox and it didn't work there either... I used a clean profile (i.e. no config changes or plugin installs) before testing.

not sure if something changed your end or it was my random changing from credit card to paypal and back again on the form, but eventually the donation worked.
